LIFEBOAT MEMORIAL RESTORATION

The Province of West Lancashire donated £100 to support the restoration of a memorial in St.Annes Parish Churchyard. The memorial was in memory of the St.Annes lifeboat men who lost their lives attempting to save the German barque Mexico which was in distress in a storm off the coast at Birkdale near Southport on December 9th, 1886. The restoration project was managed by Lytham St.Annes Civic Society and they received the cheque from W.Bro. Dudley Newiss, Semper Fidelis Mark Lodge.
